About BonusKing
BonusKing is an independent UK information site about casino games and UK-licensed online casinos. We explain what each game really costs, set out the rules that protect British players and review five licensed casinos in plain English.
Who we are
BonusKing is written by the BonusKing editorial team. We are not a casino and we don’t take bets: the site exists to explain casino games, odds and UK online casinos so readers can decide for themselves, with the costs in full view. We publish as a team rather than under individual names, and every page carries the same standards whoever drafted it. You can read more about how the team works on our editorial team page.
The site is for adults aged 18 or over in the UK. Gambling should be entertainment that you pay for, never a way to make money or fix money worries.
What the site covers
Our guides cover the main casino games, from blackjack and roulette to slots, live game shows and specialty games. Alongside them sit reference sections on casino maths, UK rules, bonuses, payments, history and safer gambling.
- Games: exact rules, payouts, real probabilities and the house edge of each bet.
- Costs in pounds: worked examples showing what a stake costs on average per bet and per hour.
- Casinos: reviews of five UK-licensed casinos built from the facts each operator publishes.
- Rules and support: what the Gambling Commission requires, and where to get help.
Our angle: what the game really costs
Most casino content focuses on what you might win. We start with what you are likely to pay. The house edge is the average share of every stake the casino keeps over the long run, so a £10 bet on single-zero roulette at a 2.70% edge costs about 27p on average. Multiply by the number of bets in an hour and you have the real price of a session. We also say plainly that no betting system or pattern overcomes the edge.
How we check what we publish
We check game figures against developers’ published rules and RTPs and against standard game maths, using Wizard of Odds house edge calculations (opens in a new tab). UK rules are checked against Gambling Commission and GOV.UK sources, and casino facts against each operator’s terms, help pages and its entry on the Gambling Commission public register (opens in a new tab). Our pages are researched explanations: we don’t claim to have played or tested anything. Every page shows the date it was last checked. The detail is in our editorial policy.
How BonusKing earns money
We earn commission from five partner casinos (Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet) when readers follow our links and sign up. Commission never changes our figures or verdicts, and we show the house edge and the terms next to every offer. Our advertiser disclosure explains the arrangement, and how we review casinos sets out what our scores are based on.
Our commitment to safer gambling
We present gambling as paid entertainment, show its costs, and give safer-gambling tools such as deposit limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP a prominent place. If gambling is causing you harm, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, free and open 24 hours a day, or contact GamCare (opens in a new tab), GAMSTOP or NHS gambling support.
