Editorial policy
Our editorial policy sets out how the BonusKing editorial team checks every game figure, UK rule and casino fact, how we write about gambling responsibly, how commission is kept apart from our verdicts and how we correct mistakes.
Our editorial principles
- Accuracy first. We publish only figures we can check against a published source or work out with arithmetic we show. If we can’t confirm something, we leave it out.
- Costs in full view. We give the house edge or RTP of the bets we discuss and turn it into pounds wherever it helps.
- No invented experience. Our pages are researched explanations. We never claim to have played, tested, timed, deposited or withdrawn.
- Independence. Commission from partner casinos never changes our figures or verdicts.
- Responsibility. We present gambling as entertainment that costs money, never as a way to make money.
How we check facts and figures
Different kinds of fact have different best sources, so each is checked against its own.
| Type of fact | Source we check against |
|---|---|
| Game rules, payouts and RTPs | The developer’s published rules and RTP figures |
| Probabilities and house edge | Standard game maths, with Wizard of Odds for calculations |
| UK gambling rules | Gambling Commission and GOV.UK sources |
| Casino licences and owners | The operator’s Gambling Commission register entry |
| Casino offers, payments and support | The operator’s terms and help pages |
For calculations we use Wizard of Odds house edge figures (opens in a new tab) alongside our own worked sums. For regulation we go to the Gambling Commission’s own pages, such as its rules on fair and transparent terms (opens in a new tab). Licences are confirmed on the Gambling Commission public register (opens in a new tab).
Last-checked dates and updates
Every page shows the date it was last checked. Partner offers were last checked on 5 October 2026. When a rule changes, such as the 10x cap on bonus wagering that applied from 19 January 2026, we update the pages affected and their dates. Our UK rules hub tracks these changes.
How we write about gambling
We follow the advertising rules that apply to gambling content in the UK. That means no urgency, no suggestion that winning is likely or easy, and no language that glamorises gambling or appeals to under-18s. Whenever an offer is mentioned we say that it is for over-18s, that terms apply, and give the key terms alongside it.
We explain that betting systems don’t change the house edge, that past results don’t affect the next spin or hand, and that basic strategy in blackjack reduces the edge rather than removing it. Pages about problem gambling, limits and self-exclusion carry no offers at all, and our safer gambling section points readers to free, independent support.
Commercial relationships and independence
We earn commission from Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet when readers follow our links and sign up. That money never changes a figure, a score or a verdict, and we show the house edge and the terms on every offer. Our advertiser disclosure gives the details, and how we review casinos explains our review scores.
Corrections policy
If you find an error, email hello@bonusking.casino with the page address and what you think is wrong, ideally with a link to the source. We correct errors when told about them, and a corrected page shows its new last-checked date. You can find more about who writes our pages on the editorial team page.
