The BonusKing editorial team
The BonusKing editorial team researches, writes and checks every page on the site, from roulette odds to UK casino reviews. We publish as a team, work from published sources and show the date each page was last checked.
What the editorial team does
The team plans, researches, writes and checks every guide on BonusKing. That covers game rules and odds, the maths behind them, UK regulation, and reviews of the five UK-licensed casinos we work with. Each page has one job: to answer the reader’s question accurately and show what the game or offer really costs.
- Researching game rules, payouts and RTPs from developers’ published material.
- Working out probabilities, house edges and pound-for-pound costs, and showing the sums.
- Following Gambling Commission rule changes and updating the pages they affect.
- Reviewing partner casinos from their terms, help pages and register entries.
- Correcting errors when readers tell us about them.
Why we publish as a team
Every page carries the byline of the BonusKing editorial team rather than an individual name. The standards are the team’s, the checks are the team’s, and responsibility for getting things right sits with the site as a whole. What matters to a reader is whether a figure is correct and where it came from, so we put the source and the last-checked date on the page instead.
How we write
We write in plain, friendly UK English and answer the question in the opening lines. Where a figure matters we show how it was reached: a straight-up roulette bet wins 1 time in 37 on a single-zero wheel and pays 35 to 1, and that gap between true odds and payout is the house edge. We prefer worked examples in pounds to vague claims, and we explain which rules change the odds.
We never write as if we have played, tested, deposited or withdrawn. Our pages are researched explanations of what developers, operators and regulators publish, and we say so. We avoid hype, urgency and any suggestion that gambling is a way to make money, and we never present a betting system as something that works. Our editorial policy sets out these rules in full.
The sources we rely on
| Topic | Checked against |
|---|---|
| Game rules and RTPs | The developer’s published rules and RTP figures |
| Odds and house edge | Standard game maths, with Wizard of Odds for calculations |
| UK rules | Gambling Commission and GOV.UK sources |
| Casino facts | Operator terms, help pages and the Gambling Commission register |
For game maths we lean on resources such as Wizard of Odds on the house edge (opens in a new tab), and for regulation on the Gambling Commission’s guidance for players (opens in a new tab). Where a figure can’t be confirmed, we leave it out or tell readers to check the game’s help screen.
Independence from our partners
BonusKing earns commission from partner casinos, but the team’s figures and verdicts don’t change because of it. Our advertiser disclosure explains how we earn money, and how we review casinos explains what each review score is built from.
