Das xBoot slot specifications at a glance

Das xBoot is a Nolimit City release from 14 September 2021, and the studio rates it at the top of its own volatility scale. The figures below are the ones we hold as verified. Anything outside them, such as symbol values or exact multiplier rules, sits in the game's help screen, and you should read that before staking real money.

How the features work in Das xBoot

Das xBoot packs several Nolimit City mechanics into one game. The base game has three special symbol types, and the bonus comes in two versions depending on how many scatters start it.

Three special symbols in the base game

  • xNudge Wilds are four symbols tall. Each time one nudges along its reel, its multiplier goes up by 1.
  • xBomb Wilds explode when they land; the help screen explains what the blast does to the symbols around them.
  • xWays symbols reveal extra symbols, adding positions to their reel and with them more ways to win on top of the 576 the diamond grid gives by default.

Our xWays and xNudge guide explains both of those mechanics across Nolimit City's catalogue.

Silent Hunter Spins

Three scatters start Silent Hunter Spins. The middle reel is enlarged for the round, and Periscope Wilds land on it, expanding and nudging. Every nudge builds their multiplier, in the same spirit as the base-game xNudge Wilds.

Wolf Pack Spins

Four scatters start Wolf Pack Spins instead. In this version a torpedo collects xWays symbols together with their multipliers, so the value of the round comes from what it gathers up.

The number of spins in each round and the detailed multiplier rules are set out in the help screen, and OLBG's Das xBoot review (opens in a new tab) covers both bonus types. Feature buy-ins are not offered to British players, so both rounds come only from normal spins.

How the diamond grid creates 576 ways

Most slots use a rectangle. Das xBoot narrows at both ends: the outer reels show two symbols, the next pair show three, and the two centre reels show four each. On a ways to win slot, the number of ways is simply the symbols on each reel multiplied together.

That gives 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 = 576. Compare that with a plain 6 × 4 rectangle, which would give 4 multiplied by itself six times, or 4,096 ways. The narrow ends mean any win that needs to stretch across all six reels has to pass through a two-symbol bottleneck at each side, which is one reason the base game can feel stingy.

The ways figure can climb to 75,712 during play. The xWays symbols are what add positions: each one reveals extra symbols on its reel, as the features section above explains. What matters for your wallet is that the large ways counts belong to rare spins, not to the typical one.

Das xBoot RTP and the real cost per spin

Return to player is a long-run average over millions of spins. The flip side is the house edge: 100% − 96.03% = 3.97%. Multiply your stake by that edge and you get the average cost of one spin.

Average cost of Das xBoot at the default 96.03% RTP
Stake per spinAverage cost per spinAverage cost per 100 spinsAverage cost per 500 spins
10p0.40p£0.40£1.99
50p1.99p£1.99£9.93
£13.97p£3.97£19.85
£27.94p£7.94£39.70

These are averages, and on an extreme slot the average is almost never what you see. A typical session loses more than the table suggests, because a slice of the RTP is locked away in outcomes so rare that most players will never hit them. Read our guide to slot volatility for why that gap exists.

Extreme volatility on a £20 budget

Volatility describes how bumpy the ride is, not how much you lose on average. Two slots with the same RTP can behave very differently: one pays small amounts often, the other pays little for long spells and then occasionally pays a lot. Das xBoot sits firmly in the second group.

Here is a simple way to picture a £20 budget. If every spin lost, £20 buys 200 spins at 10p, 40 spins at 50p or 20 spins at £1. Small wins stretch that, but on an extreme game you should expect the balance to fall faster than on a calmer slot. The average-turnover sum (£20 ÷ 0.0397 ≈ £504 staked before the budget is gone) is only a theoretical midpoint; plenty of real sessions end far sooner, and a few run much longer.

  • At 10p a spin, £20 gives the most spins and the best chance of seeing a feature at all, but any big win is capped at £5,520.
  • At 50p, the budget covers far fewer spins, so a long dry spell can end the session before anything happens.
  • At £1, 20 losing spins clear the lot. This is a high-risk way to play an extreme slot with a small budget.

If you want a feel for spin counts on other games, our answer to how long £20 lasts on a slot works through more examples.

The 55,200x max win in pounds

A max win is a cap, not a target. Once a round reaches 55,200 times the stake, it ends and pays that amount. Here is what the cap means at different stakes.

Das xBoot max win by stake
StakeMax win (55,200x)
10p£5,520
50p£27,600
£1£55,200
£2 (UK cap for ages 18–24)£110,400
£5 (UK cap for ages 25+)£276,000

The developer doesn't publish how often the cap is reached, and we don't quote third-party estimates. The safe assumption is that it is extraordinarily rare. Treat the figure as the edge of the game's range rather than something to plan around.

Playing Das xBoot online in the UK

UK versions of Das xBoot follow the Gambling Commission's slot rules, which change how the game handles compared with versions sold elsewhere.

Even at the fastest legal pace of one spin every 2.5 seconds, you could play at most 1,440 spins an hour. At £1 a spin that is a theoretical average cost of 1,440 × £1 × 3.97% ≈ £57 an hour, which shows how quickly an extreme game adds up.

How to play the Das xBoot slot sensibly

  1. Set a deposit limit in your casino account before you start; UK casinos must prompt you to set one before the first deposit.
  2. Open the game and read the help screen, including the RTP shown for that casino's version.
  3. Choose a stake that gives at least 100 spins from your session budget, such as 10p or 20p on £20.
  4. Spin manually and watch the net position and session timer the game displays.
  5. Stop when your budget or time limit is reached, whatever the balance looks like.

If you find yourself raising the stake to win back losses, stop and read our page on chasing losses.

Das xBoot myths and facts

Common beliefs about extreme slots
MythFact
A long dry spell means a big win is dueEach spin is independent; the game has no memory of past spins
Higher stakes improve the RTPThe RTP is the same at every stake in a given version
Extreme volatility means a worse gameIt means a different spread of results, not a different average
The max win is a realistic aimIt is the game's ceiling and most players will never reach it

The gambler's fallacy catches people out most on high-volatility games, because the dry spells are longer and the urge to wait for the turn is stronger. Random results don't balance out on a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of the Das xBoot slot?

The default RTP of Das xBoot is 96.03%. That means the game is designed to return £96.03 for every £100 staked over a very long run, leaving a house edge of 3.97%. Casinos can be supplied with other RTP settings, so the figure in the game's help screen at your casino is the one that applies. Our guide to slot RTP explains how versions differ and why the number tells you nothing about a single short session.

Is Das xBoot a high volatility slot?

Yes, Nolimit City classes Das xBoot as extreme, which is above high on its scale. In practice that means long runs of small or no wins, with much of the return concentrated in rare features. It suits players who accept that most sessions will lose and who stake small enough to ride out dry spells. If that sounds stressful, look at our list of high volatility slots to compare, or pick something calmer.

What is the max win on Das xBoot?

The maximum win on Das xBoot is 55,200 times your stake. At 10p that is £5,520, at £1 it is £55,200, and at the £5 UK cap for players aged 25 and over it is £276,000. The cap ends the round once it is reached. Nolimit City doesn't publish how often it happens, so treat it as extremely rare. Our page on max win caps explains how caps work.

How many ways to win does Das xBoot have?

Das xBoot has 576 ways to win in the base game, rising to as many as 75,712 when the grid expands. The 576 comes from multiplying the symbols on each reel: 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2. Wins pay for matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, with no fixed lines. See our explainer on ways to win for how the count is worked out on other games.

Can you buy the bonus on Das xBoot in the UK?

No, a bonus buy isn't available on UK versions. Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players, because the Commission said they risked breaching its standards on game rules and on encouraging players to chase losses. You reach features only by spinning. Our page on whether you can buy bonus rounds covers this in more detail.

What is the maximum stake on Das xBoot in the UK?

The most you can stake on Das xBoot in the UK is £5 a spin if you are 25 or over, or £2 if you are aged 18 to 24. The Gambling Commission brought in these limits on 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025 respectively, and they apply to all online slots. The casino may set its own lower maximum too. Read our guide to the maximum stake on a UK slot.

Who makes Das xBoot?

Das xBoot is made by Nolimit City, a studio with its registered office in St Julian's, Malta, and teams in Sweden, Malta and India. Evolution announced its deal to buy the studio in June 2022. Nolimit City is best known for extreme-volatility slots and its family of “x” mechanics such as xWays, xNudge, xSplit and xBomb. Our Nolimit City studio page lists more of its games.

Is Das xBoot worth playing with a small budget?

It can be, as long as you play at a low stake and treat the money as the cost of entertainment. With £20, a 10p stake gives up to 200 spins even if nothing lands, while £1 gives only 20. Extreme games often drain small balances quickly, so a stake that buys plenty of spins matters more than usual. Our guide to casino games for small budgets suggests calmer alternatives.
