Live game show bonus explained
A live game show bonus can mean two things: a casino offer you use on shows like Crazy Time, or the bonus rounds built into the shows themselves. Most UK casino offers exclude game shows or count them for less, and the in-game bonus rounds land less often than they appear to. This guide covers both, with the published RTPs and segment odds.
Key takeaways
- Casino bonuses often exclude live game shows or give them a reduced contribution to wagering.
- Published game show RTPs run from about 90.81% to 96.58% depending on the bet, higher edges than most tables.
- On a 54-segment Crazy Time wheel, the Crazy Time bonus segment is 1 in 54.
- Bonus rounds are never due; every spin is independent.
- Our partner offers are slot-focused; check each casino’s terms before using any bonus on shows.
- Crazy Time RTP
- 94.41%–96.08% by bet
- MONOPOLY Live RTP
- 91.30%–96.23% by bet
- Dream Catcher RTP
- 90.81%–96.58% by bet
- Deal or No Deal Live return
- 95.42%
- Crazy Time segment odds
- 1 in 54 per spin
Live game show bonus: two meanings
People searching for a live game show bonus usually want one of two things. Some want a casino promotion they can use on game shows, such as a deposit bonus that counts on Crazy Time or MONOPOLY Live. Others want to know how the bonus rounds inside those shows work and how often they come up. Both questions come down to the same maths: how much each bet returns on average, and how likely each outcome is.
We cover the casino offer side first, then the in-game bonus rounds. If you want to compare game shows with other live games, see our live casino bonus guide, and for every offer type there is the casino bonuses hub.
Can you use a casino bonus on live game shows?
Sometimes. Many UK casino bonuses leave game shows off the eligible list or count them at a lower rate than slots. Some terms group shows with live casino, others list them separately, and a few name individual titles. You can’t assume a show counts because it looks like a slot or because an offer says “casino”.
Game shows are a different case from blackjack or baccarat. Their edges are higher, not lower, so the cost to the casino of a bonus cleared on them is less of an issue. The bigger concerns are the expense of running live studios and the very wide swings in results. Either way, the eligible-games list is the only thing that settles it, and the Gambling Commission requires those significant conditions to be shown clearly with the offer.
Live game show RTP and the cost of bonus wagering
If a show does count, its RTP tells you what wagering costs. The table uses £250 of wagering, a £25 bonus at the 10x maximum, with full contribution assumed.
| Show | Published RTP range | House edge | Expected loss on £250 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crazy Time (Evolution) | 94.41%–96.08% | 3.92%–5.59% | £9.80–£13.98 |
| MONOPOLY Live (Evolution) | 91.30%–96.23% | 3.77%–8.70% | £9.43–£21.75 |
| Dream Catcher (Evolution) | 90.81%–96.58% | 3.42%–9.19% | £8.55–£22.98 |
| Deal or No Deal Live (Evolution) | 95.42% | 4.58% | £11.45 |
Crazy Time’s range is the developer’s own figure from Evolution’s Crazy Time rules (opens in a new tab). The MONOPOLY Live and Dream Catcher figures come from Wizard of Odds quoting the developer’s disclosed returns, and the Deal or No Deal Live figure is the help-file return that Wizard of Odds says its own analysis supports. For comparison, a 96% RTP slot costs £10 on the same £250, and European roulette £6.75.
These are long-run averages over enormous numbers of spins. A single session on a game show can swing far from the average in either direction, and losses are the likely result over time.
Bet choice inside one game show
Inside each show, some bets cost much more than others. Dream Catcher shows this clearly. Its 54-segment wheel has numbers 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 40 plus a 2x and a 7x multiplier, and the published edges differ sharply by number.
| Bet on | Return | House edge | Expected loss per £100 wagered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 95.34% | 4.66% | £4.66 |
| 2 | 95.51% | 4.49% | £4.49 |
| 5 | 91.24% | 8.76% | £8.76 |
| 10 | 96.58% | 3.42% | £3.42 |
| 20 | 92.74% | 7.26% | £7.26 |
| 40 | 90.81% | 9.19% | £9.19 |
MONOPOLY Live works the same way: 96.23% on the 2 but 91.30% on the 5. Wizard of Odds’ money wheel analysis (opens in a new tab) notes its Dream Catcher figures ignore the maximum win cap. If you wager a bonus on a show, the bet you pick can more than double the expected cost, so check the help screen for the return on each bet.
How often game show bonus rounds land
Now the other meaning of game show bonus. Where developers publish segment counts, the chance of a bonus segment on any spin is simple counting. Top Slot or Chance multipliers change the prize, not the chance of the wheel stopping on a segment.
| Show and segment | Segments of 54 | Chance per spin | About once every |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crazy Time: Coin Flip | 4 | 7.41% | 13.5 spins |
| Crazy Time: Cash Hunt | 2 | 3.70% | 27 spins |
| Crazy Time: Crazy Time | 1 | 1.85% | 54 spins |
| MONOPOLY Live: 2 Rolls | 3 | 5.56% | 18 spins |
| MONOPOLY Live: 4 Rolls | 1 | 1.85% | 54 spins |
| MONOPOLY Live: Chance | 2 | 3.70% | 27 spins |
| Dream Catcher: 2x or 7x multiplier | 2 | 3.70% | 27 spins |
“About once every” is an average, not a schedule. Crazy Time can go well over 100 spins without its top segment, or land it twice in a row. In Crazy Time, only players with a stake on a bonus segment can win in that round, though everyone watches. Pachinko’s segment count isn’t in the developer information we checked, so it is left out. Our explainer on how often bonus rounds come up goes further.
Deal or No Deal Live (opens in a new tab) has a different route in: an RNG qualifying round. In normal mode the chance of qualifying is 1 in 18 for a 1x cost; Easy mode costs 3x for a 1 in 6 chance, and Very Easy costs 9x for 1 in 2.
Game show max wins in context
Headline multipliers draw attention, but they are rare outcomes. Evolution says the Crazy Time bonus can pay up to 20,000x, with Pachinko capped at 10,000x and Coin Flip at up to 5,000x with a 50x Top Slot. It lists the largest recorded Crazy Time win as 25,000x, from Cash Hunt on 11 December 2022, so 20,000x isn’t an absolute ceiling. Dream Catcher payouts can reach up to 20,000x on Evolution’s figures.
None of this changes the average. The RTP already includes those rare top prizes, which is part of why the everyday returns sit below table games. Our game show strategy page looks at managing a budget on high-variance shows.
UK rules on game shows and bonuses
- Bonus wagering can’t exceed 10x the bonus, from 19 January 2026 (LCCP code 5.1.1); see our 10x wagering cap page.
- A promotion can’t mix casino with betting, bingo or lottery products.
- Autoplay is banned on all online casino games, including game shows, since 17 January 2025; a re-bet button is allowed.
- Non-slot casino games must allow at least 5 seconds per game cycle, and you can’t play several games at once.
- The £5 and £2 online slot stake limits apply to reel-based online slots and not to table games; for shows with slot-style reels, check the game’s help screen and the casino’s terms for any stake cap.
- Your deposit balance can be withdrawn at any time during a bonus.
Our UK live casino rules page explains the 2025 changes in detail.
How to check a bonus before playing game shows
- Read the eligible-games list and look for game shows by name or as a category.
- Note the contribution rate and any shows that are excluded.
- Work out the stakes you would need: bonus × wagering multiple ÷ contribution.
- Open the show’s help screen and note the RTP for the bet you plan to use.
- Multiply stakes by the house edge (100% minus RTP) to get the expected loss, then compare it with the bonus.
- Check the maximum bet and time limit, and set a deposit limit before you start.
If the expected loss is close to the bonus, there is little point taking it. Our wagering requirements guide explains the calculation, and game weighting covers contribution rates.
Myths about game show bonus rounds
Advantages
- Fact: each spin is independent; the wheel has no memory.
- Fact: the RTP for each bet is published in the help screen and includes the big multipliers.
- Fact: the house edge applies whether you play with bonus funds or cash.
Drawbacks
- Myth: a bonus round is due after a long gap. See the gambler’s fallacy.
- Myth: covering every bonus segment guarantees a profit. You pay for every segment that misses.
- Myth: a casino bonus makes game shows a way to make money. It only offsets part of the expected cost, if the terms allow it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a casino bonus on Crazy Time?
Only if the offer’s terms include it. Many UK bonuses exclude game shows or count them at a reduced rate, and some name specific shows. If Crazy Time does count, its 94.41% to 96.08% RTP means £250 of wagering carries an expected loss of roughly £10 to £14. Our Crazy Time guide explains the wheel and bets.
Which live game show has the best RTP?
Of the figures we hold, the best single bets are Dream Catcher’s 10 at 96.58% and MONOPOLY Live’s 2 at 96.23%, with Crazy Time’s best bet at 96.08%. Other bets on the same shows return much less, down to 90.81% on Dream Catcher’s 40. Always check the help screen for the bet you use. Our game show RTP page compares the shows.
How often does the Crazy Time bonus come up?
The Crazy Time segment is 1 of 54 on the wheel, so it lands on about 1.85% of spins, or once every 54 spins on average. That is an average, not a schedule: long gaps and quick repeats are both normal. Coin Flip is 4 segments and Cash Hunt 2. Our page on how game shows work explains the wheel mechanics.
Are game show bonus rounds ever due?
No. Each spin is independent, so a long run without a bonus segment doesn’t make one more likely next time. The chance stays the same on every spin, for example 1 in 54 for the Crazy Time segment. Believing otherwise is the gambler’s fallacy. Our page on independent events explains why past spins don’t matter.
Is autoplay allowed on live game shows in the UK?
No. The Gambling Commission banned autoplay for all online casino games, live game shows included, from 17 January 2025. A re-bet button is still allowed, because you start each round yourself. Casino games other than slots must also allow at least 5 seconds per game cycle. Our autoplay ban page has the detail.
Do game shows count less towards wagering?
Often, yes, though it varies by casino. Some terms exclude game shows entirely, some list them with live casino at a reduced contribution, and some name individual titles. A lower contribution multiplies the stakes needed and the expected loss. Read our game weighting guide to see how contribution rates change the cost.
What is the most a live game show can pay?
It depends on the show and the developer’s published figures. Evolution says the Crazy Time bonus can pay up to 20,000x, and its largest recorded Crazy Time win was 25,000x. Dream Catcher can reach up to 20,000x. These are rare outcomes already counted in the RTP. Our answer on how much you can win on Crazy Time covers the caps.
Can I withdraw my deposit if game shows don’t count?
Yes. Gambling Commission guidance says you must be able to withdraw your deposit balance at any time, including while a bonus is active, and wagering can’t apply to your own money. Withdrawing may cancel the bonus, so check the terms. Our page on bonuses and withdrawals explains how the balances are kept apart.
