What is OnAir Entertainment live casino?
OnAir Entertainment is a business-to-business live casino studio: it builds and streams dealer games that online casinos then add to their lobbies. Trade reporting from 2021 describes it as founded that January by a group of senior people from the live casino industry, headquartered in Malta and streaming from a studio in Riga, the Latvian capital that is also home to several larger studios.
Compared with Evolution or Playtech Live, OnAir has a short and thinly documented public record. Everything below comes from trade press published in 2021 and 2022, so some of it may have moved on. Where we can't confirm something, we say so rather than fill the gap. For an overview of the whole sector, start at our live casino hub.

The 2021 report in CasinoBeats on the Microgaming agreement (opens in a new tab) is the main source for the founding details. The October 2022 expansion plans come from a Gambling Insider report (opens in a new tab) on a distribution deal. Plans are not outcomes: we haven't seen confirmation of which studios opened or whether the US launch happened.
What the Microgaming deal meant
Microgaming 'powering' OnAir's live casino means OnAir's games were to reach casinos through Microgaming's platform rather than OnAir signing every casino one by one. Distribution deals like this are common for newer studios. They let a small producer reach operators that already use a larger supplier's system, while the operator adds new tables without a separate integration.
For a player, distribution changes nothing about the odds. A roulette wheel streamed through one platform spins the same as through another. What it can affect is which casinos show the games and how they appear in a lobby, so the provider name on a tile isn't always the studio that deals the cards. The game's help screen is the reliable place to see who made it.
What we can't confirm about OnAir live casino
Being clear about gaps is part of explaining a provider straight. The sources we rely on do not confirm:
- A Gambling Commission licence. We haven't found a GB licence for OnAir. Search the Commission's public register (opens in a new tab) by name if you want to check.
- Current studios. Riga is on record; Spain and Georgia were plans in 2022.
- Game titles. We have no confirmed list of OnAir's current tables or shows.
- RTPs, limits and rule sets. None are published in the sources we use.
None of this means anything is wrong. It means you should rely on the casino's licence and the game's own help screen, not on a provider's name, when you decide whether and how to play. Our remote gambling licences guide explains why the casino's licence is the one that protects you.
How to check a newer live provider before you play
- Confirm the casino holds a Gambling Commission licence: find the number in the site footer and check it on the public register.
- Open the live game and read its help screen for the supplier name, rules, payout table and RTP.
- Check the rules that move the odds: single or double zero in roulette, 3:2 or 6:5 in blackjack, and the Tie payout in baccarat.
- Note the table's minimum and maximum stakes and the betting window length.
- Set a deposit limit and a session budget before you place a chip.
- If a site showing the game has no UK licence, don't play there; it offers no UKGC protection.
OnAir live casino odds: standard games, standard maths
Whichever studio deals them, standard rules give standard odds. These figures apply to any live table using the rules shown, so they are the benchmark to compare against an OnAir table's help screen.
| Game and bet | Rule set | Chance or edge | Expected loss per £10 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roulette, straight up | Single zero, pays 35 to 1 | Wins 1 in 37; 2.70% edge | 27p |
| Roulette, any bet | Double zero | 5.26% edge | 52.6p |
| Baccarat, Banker | Eight decks, 5% commission | 1.06% edge | 10.6p |
| Baccarat, Player | Eight decks | 1.24% edge | 12.4p |
| Baccarat, Tie | Pays 8 to 1, eight decks | 14.36% edge | £1.44 |
| Blackjack payout change | 6 to 5 instead of 3 to 2 | Adds 1.39% to the edge | 13.9p extra |
The double-zero figure is counting: 38 pockets with a 35 to 1 payout return 36 units per 38 staked, so the house keeps 2 in 38. The blackjack line comes from Wizard of Odds' rule variations analysis (opens in a new tab): at 3 to 2 a £10 natural wins £15, at 6 to 5 it wins £12. See roulette house edge, baccarat odds and 3:2 vs 6:5 blackjack for the working.
Worked example: a £50 budget at a live table
Say you bring £50 to a live roulette table and bet £2 on red each round. On a single-zero wheel, each bet costs 5.4p on average (£2 × 2.70%). Over 100 rounds you'd stake £200 in total and expect to lose about £5.40, though the real result could be much better or much worse. On a double-zero wheel the same 100 bets would cost about £10.52 on average (£200 × 5.26%), almost twice as much for the same entertainment.
| Wheel | Total staked | House edge | Expected loss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single zero | £200 | 2.70% | £5.40 |
| French rules with La Partage | £200 | 1.35% | £2.70 |
| Double zero | £200 | 5.26% | £10.52 |
French rules with La Partage return half of an even-money stake when zero lands, halving the cost. The point holds for any studio: the rule set decides the price. Our expected value guide shows how to run these sums for other games.
New studio vs established studio: what really differs
Players sometimes assume a smaller studio runs looser games to attract business, or that a big one has an edge it hides. Neither follows from the maths. What genuinely varies between studios is presentation and practicalities: camera work, dealer style, table limits, round length, side bets and how quickly cards are shuffled. Round length matters to your wallet because faster rounds mean more bets per hour at the same edge; our cost per hour guide shows the effect.
Results at a physical table come from real equipment. Our explainers on how live casino works and whether live dealers are real people cover the mechanics. Patterns in past results don't predict the next one; each spin or deal is independent, as our gambler's fallacy page explains.
UK rules that would apply to OnAir live casino games
If a British-licensed casino offers a live game from any studio, the Gambling Commission's product rules apply. Since 17 January 2025 autoplay is banned on all online casino games, live included, though re-bet is permitted. Non-slot casino games must allow at least 5 seconds between the start of one game cycle and the next, simultaneous play of several games isn't allowed, and net spend and time played must be shown in real time. Details are on our UK live casino rules page.
The £5 and £2 online slot stake limits don't apply to live tables. That makes your own controls more important: set a deposit limit, use reality checks, and if gambling stops feeling like entertainment, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24 hours a day.

Frequently asked questions
When was OnAir Entertainment founded?
OnAir Entertainment was founded in January 2021 by a team of senior live casino professionals, according to trade reporting from June 2021. It set up its headquarters in Malta and a studio in Riga, Latvia. Its managing director at the time was Andres Rengifo. Our history of live casino puts newer studios like OnAir in the context of how the sector grew.
Is OnAir Entertainment licensed in the UK?
We haven't been able to confirm a Gambling Commission licence for OnAir in the sources we use. You can search the Commission's public register by company name. More importantly, check that the casino you play at holds a UK licence, because that licence is what gives you UK protections, complaint routes and GAMSTOP access. Our Gambling Commission explainer shows how to read the register.
Where is OnAir's live casino studio?
The studio on record is in Riga, Latvia, with the company's headquarters in Malta. In October 2022 OnAir announced plans for new studios, notably in Spain and Georgia, and for a US launch in 2023. We haven't seen confirmation that those plans were completed, so treat them as intentions rather than facts. See where live casino studios are for other providers' locations.
What games does OnAir Entertainment offer?
We don't have a confirmed list of OnAir's current tables or shows, so we don't name titles. If you find an OnAir game in a UK casino lobby, open its help screen for the rules, payout table and RTP. Standard rules give standard odds, such as 2.70% on single-zero roulette, so compare the help screen with those benchmarks. Our roulette odds page lists the benchmark for every bet.
What was OnAir's deal with Microgaming?
In June 2021 Microgaming agreed to power OnAir's live casino, with launch planned for early 2022, according to trade reporting at the time. That type of deal means a studio's games reach casinos through a larger supplier's platform. It affects which casinos list the games, not the odds of any bet. Our guide to how live casino works explains the path from studio to screen.
Are smaller live casino studios less fair?
There's no reason in the maths to think so. A real wheel, real cards and real dice follow the same probabilities in any studio, and a UK-licensed casino must meet Commission standards for every game it offers. What varies is the rule set, so read the help screen for zero rules, blackjack payouts and side bet terms. Our answer to whether live casino games are rigged covers how fairness is checked.
Can I use a welcome bonus on OnAir live tables?
Often not, so read the terms first. UK welcome offers frequently restrict play to slots, and live and table games are commonly excluded or count for less towards wagering. Of our partner offers, 10bet's must be wagered on slots and Coral's spins are slot spins, while Casumo applies game restrictions. Our live casino bonus page explains the usual rules.
