Play'n GO built its first gaming product in 1997, is based in Växjö, Sweden, and is independent and privately held. Its best-known games include Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead. See the Play'n GO page for more, or the slots hub for every review.

How the Reactoonz 2 cluster pays grid works

There are no reels or lines in the usual sense. Symbols fill a 7 × 7 grid, 49 positions in all, and any group of five or more identical symbols touching each other pays. That's cluster pays. After a win, the cluster disappears, the symbols above drop down and new ones fill the gaps from the top, which is cascading reels applied to a grid. Each fresh drop can form a new cluster, so one paid round can pay several times.

Bigger clusters pay more, and the paytable shows how much each symbol pays at each cluster size for your stake. Because cascades chain, what you see on screen in one round can be a sequence of wins, and the game totals them at the end.

How the features work

Uncharged and Electric wilds

Some wilds land uncharged. When a winning cluster forms next to one, it becomes an Electric wild. Electric wilds are what feed the game's main meter, so the base game's job is partly to land clusters in the right places to charge them.

The Quantumeter

Electric wilds charge the Quantumeter. As it climbs to higher levels, it adds bigger features to the grid: large Energoon wilds, or a 3x3 Gargantoon wild. A 3x3 wild covers nine of the 49 positions in one go, which is a big share of the board for completing clusters.

The Fluctometer

The second meter, the Fluctometer, is charged by fluctuating symbols that are part of winning clusters. When it pays out, it can award extra Electric wilds, which in turn feed the Quantumeter. The two meters work together: one can top up the other.

This follows the developer's description as set out by Casinos.com's Reactoonz 2 review (opens in a new tab) and Gambling.com's guide (opens in a new tab). Exact meter thresholds and what each level does are in the game's help screen.

QuantumeterElectric wildsEnergoon wilds at higher levels, or a 3x3 Gargantoon wild

Meters can make it feel as if the game owes you a feature once a bar is nearly full. It doesn't. Each new symbol drop is random, and a half-charged meter is not a reason to keep playing or to raise your stake.

Reactoonz 2 RTP: what “top version” means

Play'n GO's published RTP for Reactoonz 2 is 96.2% for the top version. Studios often supply a game at more than one RTP, and the casino chooses which to run. The version on offer must be shown in the game's information, and our page on RTP information rules explains what UK casinos have to tell you.

Each percentage point matters. At the top version the edge is 3.8%, so £3.80 average cost per £100 staked. If a casino ran a version two points lower, the edge would be 5.8% and the average cost £5.80 per £100: about half as much again. We don't list the lower versions' exact figures because they're not in our verified data, so check the panel.

High volatility and the 5,083x Reactoonz 2 max win

Reactoonz 2 is rated high volatility. A lot of its return depends on charging the Quantumeter, so many rounds produce a small cluster or two, and a few produce much more. Short sessions often land well away from the averages above.

The top prize of 5,083 times stake is £508.30 at 10p, £2,541.50 at 50p, £5,083 at £1, £10,166 at £2 and £25,415 at £5. The final two stakes are the UK slot caps for 18–24s and for players aged 25 and over. It's a ceiling, not a likely result.

The original has the highest published RTP of the three; the sequel has the highest ceiling. All three are high volatility, so the choice comes down to which feature set you prefer. For other grid games, compare Jammin' Jars, a cluster pays slot at 96.83%.

How to play Reactoonz 2 online, step by step

  1. Create an account at a UK-licensed casino and complete age and identity verification.
  2. Set a deposit limit at the prompt, then a session budget of your own.
  3. Open Reactoonz 2 and check the RTP in its information panel to see which version is running.
  4. Choose a stake within the UK cap for your age group.
  5. Start each round by hand; clusters pay and cascade until no new win forms.
  6. Watch the Quantumeter and Fluctometer, but don't let a full-looking meter change your plan.
  7. Use the on-screen net position and timer, and stop at your limit.

UK rules for Reactoonz 2

Reactoonz 2 counts as an online slot in Great Britain, so the slot stake caps apply: £5 per round for players aged 25 and over since 9 April 2025, and £2 for 18–24s since 21 May 2025. Design rules in force since 31 October 2021 ban autoplay, turbo and slam-stop, set a 2.5-second minimum per round and stop returns at or below your stake being celebrated as wins. Since 17 January 2025, net spend and time played must be shown in real time.

Feature buys aren't available: since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players. See our guides to slot stake limits and the autoplay ban.

Keeping Reactoonz 2 sessions in proportion

Fast cascades and filling meters are designed to be absorbing. A few habits help keep a session to the budget you set:

  • Decide your loss limit before the first round and stick to it.
  • Take a break when a meter feels “nearly there”; that feeling is the design, not the maths.
  • Turn on deposit limits and reality checks in your casino account.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Reactoonz 2?

Reactoonz 2 has a top RTP of 96.2%, a house edge of 3.8%. Casinos can run lower versions, so check the RTP in the game's information panel. At the top version, the average cost is 38p per 100 rounds at 10p and £3.80 per 100 rounds at £1. Our page on whether a higher RTP slot is better explains why the version matters.

How does Reactoonz 2 pay?

Reactoonz 2 pays for clusters of five or more matching symbols touching each other on a 7 × 7 grid. Winning clusters disappear and new symbols drop in, which can create more wins from the same round. There are no paylines. Our guide to cluster pays explains the mechanic in more depth.

What is the Quantumeter in Reactoonz 2?

The Quantumeter is a meter charged by Electric wilds. At higher levels it adds large Energoon wilds or a 3x3 Gargantoon wild to the grid. Electric wilds come from uncharged wilds that sit next to a winning cluster. A nearly full meter doesn't make the next round more likely to pay. See our wild symbols guide.

What does the Fluctometer do in Reactoonz 2?

The Fluctometer is a second meter, charged by fluctuating symbols that form part of winning clusters. It can award extra Electric wilds, which then help charge the Quantumeter. The help screen gives the exact thresholds. For how cascades feed features like this, read our cascading reels guide.

What is the max win on Reactoonz 2?

The maximum win on Reactoonz 2 is 5,083 times your stake. That's £508.30 at 10p, £5,083 at £1 and £25,415 at the £5 UK cap for players aged 25 and over. It's the rarest result the game produces, so budget around the average cost instead. Our volatility explainer covers why.

Is Reactoonz 2 better than Reactoonz?

Neither is better on every measure. The original Reactoonz has a higher published RTP, 96.51% against 96.2% for the sequel's top version, while Reactoonz 2 has the higher ceiling at 5,083x against 4,570x. Both are high volatility. Our Reactoonz review covers the first game's features.

Who makes Reactoonz 2?

Reactoonz 2 is made by Play'n GO and was released in 2020. Play'n GO built its first gaming product in 1997, is headquartered in Växjö, Sweden, and is independent and privately held. It's also behind Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead, and its recurring character is the adventurer Rich Wilde. See our Play'n GO page.

Can I play Reactoonz 2 for free in the UK?

Some UK casinos offer demo play, but you must pass age verification first, even for free-to-play versions. Demo results don't cost money, but they're meant to follow the same rules as the real game, so they're useful for learning the features. Our page on demo mode explains the rules.
