E-wallet casinos in the UK
E-wallet casinos in the UK let you pay in and cash out through an online account such as PayPal, Skrill or Neteller instead of sending card details to the casino. Every partner we cover takes at least one wallet, and some pay wallets instantly once a withdrawal is approved. The trade-offs are bonus exclusions, wallet fees and weaker protection than a bank.
Key takeaways
- PayPal is listed at Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and 10bet; Casumo also pays out to Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter.

How e-wallet casinos work
An e-wallet is an online account that holds money or links to your bank, and pays merchants on your behalf. At a casino you pick the wallet in the cashier, log in to approve the payment, and the casino only sees the wallet, not your card number. Withdrawals go back to the same wallet, and you move the money on to your bank when you choose.
Apple Pay and Google Pay are sometimes called digital wallets, but they work differently: they pass a stand-in number for the card underneath rather than holding a balance. They're covered on our Apple Pay and Google Pay pages. For the full list of methods, see our casino payment methods guide.
Which UK casinos accept e-wallets
The table shows what each partner publishes. "Not published" means the casino's own help pages don't list it; it may still appear in the cashier.
| Casino | PayPal | Skrill | Neteller | Other wallets |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coral | Deposit and withdraw | Not published | Not published (logo in site footer) | Not published |
| Ladbrokes | Deposit and withdraw | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| Casumo | Deposit and withdraw | Deposit and withdraw | Withdraw (deposit not published) | MuchBetter withdrawals |
| 10bet | Deposit (review source) | Deposit (review source) | Deposit (review source) | E-wallet withdrawals listed as a category |
| PlayOJO | Check the cashier | Check the cashier | Check the cashier | Payz named on help page |
10bet's own help centre names e-wallets only as a category, so the specific wallets come from an independent review rather than the operator. Brand detail is on our Casumo payments, 10bet payments and PlayOJO payments pages, and our PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter and Payz guides cover each wallet.
E-wallet withdrawal times at UK casinos
Speed is the main reason people choose a wallet, and the published figures back that up at some casinos but not all. Every withdrawal still passes through the casino's own review first, which no payment method can skip.
| Casino | E-wallet time | Debit card time | Review stage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casumo | Instant after approval (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter) | Up to 2 days | Approved or denied within 3 days |
| 10bet | Up to 2 business days | Up to 2 business days | Not published separately |
| Coral | Not published for PayPal | Visa Fast Funds typically up to 4 hours | Internal approval |
| Ladbrokes | Not published for PayPal | Visa Fast Funds typically up to 4 hours | Internal approval |
| PlayOJO | Not published by method | Not published by method | Most within a few hours |
So the wallet advantage is clear at Casumo, absent at 10bet on published figures, and at Coral and Ladbrokes a Visa debit card with Fast Funds may well be the quicker published route. Our fast withdrawal casinos page and debit card vs e-wallet comparison look at this in more depth.
Both Entain brands only pay out to PayPal if you've deposited with PayPal in the last six months, under their closed-loop policy.
E-wallet fees for casino payments
There are two sets of charges to think about: the casino's and the wallet's. On the casino side, Coral and Ladbrokes say they charge no withdrawal fees, Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10, and 10bet doesn't publish a fee. Our casino withdrawal fees guide compares them.
On the wallet side, the providers publish fee schedules of their own. Skrill's terms say sending payments carries fees, including for currency conversion, with amounts on its fees page. MuchBetter's terms list an administration fee, foreign exchange fees, possible cash machine fees and an inactivity fee after 12 months. Neteller's terms set a USD 60 fee on each prohibited transaction, which includes payments for unlicensed gambling, as stated in the Neteller terms of use (opens in a new tab).
Are e-wallets safe for casino payments?
The main wallets used in the UK are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as electronic money institutions. Skrill and Neteller are both trading names of Paysafe Financial Services Limited, authorised under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 with FCA number 900015. MuchBetter is run by MIR Limited UK, FCA number 900704, and the Payz Mastercard is issued by PSI-Pay Ltd, FCA number 900011.
E-money is not a bank deposit, though. The Skrill account terms (opens in a new tab) say the Financial Services Compensation Scheme doesn't apply, and Neteller's terms warn that funds may be lost if the provider becomes insolvent. Money sitting in a casino account has its own protection rating too, explained on our customer funds page.
PayPal takes a different approach to gambling: its gambling policy (opens in a new tab) bans gambling payments unless the merchant is an approved seller in a jurisdiction where gambling is legal. Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter all prohibit payments for unlicensed or illegal gambling.
E-wallets and the UK credit card ban
Credit cards haven't been allowed for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and the ban reaches through e-wallets. The Commission says a casino taking a payment from a wallet such as PayPal or Skrill should make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card. If your wallet's only funding source is a credit card, expect the casino payment to be refused.
The NETELLER card is a separate product and isn't a credit card; it can only spend money already in the account. Our gambling credit card ban page has the full rule.
E-wallet casinos and welcome bonuses
Wallets are the methods most often excluded from welcome offers. Coral excludes Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe and Skrill, Ladbrokes excludes PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers, and 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller. Casumo's headline terms say payment restrictions apply without naming methods. You can still deposit with a wallet; you just won't trigger the offer.
Our guide to payment methods excluded from bonuses sets out each list, and can I use PayPal at an online casino answers the most common question directly.
How to deposit and withdraw with an e-wallet
- Open the wallet in your own name and verify it with the provider.
- Fund it from a debit card or bank account, not a credit card.
- At the casino, set a deposit limit when prompted, then choose the wallet in the cashier.
- Log in to the wallet and approve the payment; the casino receives no card details.
- If you want a welcome offer, check the wallet isn't excluded before you pay in.
- To cash out, request a withdrawal to the same wallet, then move the money to your bank.
Pros and cons of e-wallet casinos
Advantages
- Card details stay with the wallet, not the casino.
- Casumo pays wallets instantly once a withdrawal is approved.
- One wallet can serve several casinos.
- Wallets are FCA-authorised and ban unlicensed gambling payments.
Drawbacks
- Often excluded from welcome offers.
- Wallet fees for transfers, currency and inactivity.
- No FSCS cover for e-money balances.
- Card-based bank gambling blocks may not catch wallet payments.
That last point matters for safer gambling. Revolut says its gambling block doesn't affect payments through third-party apps, while HSBC says its restriction covers digital wallets. If you rely on a bank gambling block, check whether it reaches wallet top-ups, and consider blocking software as a second layer.

Frequently asked questions
Which UK casinos accept PayPal?
Among our partners, Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list PayPal for deposits and withdrawals in their own help pages, and an independent review lists it at 10bet. PlayOJO's help page doesn't name PayPal, so check its cashier. Remember that Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal deposits from their welcome spins. Our PayPal casinos guide goes into more detail.
Are e-wallet withdrawals faster than debit cards?
At some casinos, yes. Casumo pays PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter instantly after approval, against up to two days for cards. 10bet publishes the same up-to-two-business-days for both. At Coral and Ladbrokes, Visa Fast Funds is typically up to four hours after approval, while PayPal times aren't published. Our debit card vs e-wallet page compares them.
Is my money protected in an e-wallet?
Not in the same way as a bank account. Skrill's terms say the FSCS doesn't apply, and Neteller's say e-money accounts aren't bank accounts and funds may be lost on insolvency. Providers are FCA-authorised electronic money institutions, which brings rules on how they handle money. Keep only what you need in a wallet. Our customer funds page covers casino-side protection.
Can I fund an e-wallet with a credit card to gamble?
No. The UK credit card ban, in force since 14 April 2020, covers credit card payments made through e-wallets, and the Commission says casinos should check that wallet funds weren't loaded from a credit card. Fund the wallet from a debit card or bank account instead. Our credit card ban page explains the rule and its exceptions.
Do e-wallets charge fees for casino payments?
Often, yes, though the amounts depend on the wallet. Skrill charges for sending payments and currency conversion, MuchBetter lists administration, foreign exchange and inactivity fees, and Neteller charges USD 60 for prohibited transactions such as unlicensed gambling. Casino fees are separate: Casumo charges £3 under £10. Our withdrawal fees guide compares casino charges.
Why don't e-wallet deposits get casino bonuses?
Because many casinos exclude them in the offer terms. Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal, Skrill and Neteller, and 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller. The casinos don't publish their reasons. The deposit still works for play; it just doesn't trigger the offer, so decide which matters more before you pay in. Our payment exclusions guide lists every partner's exclusions.
Does PlayOJO accept e-wallets?
PlayOJO's help page names Payz alongside debit cards, Apple Pay and Trustly, and says to check the cashier for the full current list. It doesn't publish withdrawal times by method, but says most payments are processed within a few hours and go back to the deposit method where possible. Our PlayOJO payments page has more.
Will my bank's gambling block stop e-wallet payments?
It depends on the bank. Revolut says its block doesn't affect payments through third-party apps, and Lloyds' freeze doesn't cover bank transfers, while HSBC says its restriction covers digital wallets. If a block is part of your plan, ask your bank exactly what it covers. Our bank gambling blocks guide compares the main banks.
