Payment methods excluded from bonuses

Payment methods excluded from bonuses are deposit options that won't trigger a casino's welcome offer, even though the cashier accepts them. At UK casinos the usual names are PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards. Use one for your qualifying deposit and the offer simply doesn't arrive, so it pays to read the list before you pay in.

Key takeaways

  • Coral excludes Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards from its spin offer.
  • Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers.
  • 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller; Casumo says payment restrictions apply without naming them in its headline terms.
  • An excluded deposit still works as a deposit; you just don't get the offer.
  • Check the full terms before choosing a method, because the exclusion applies to the qualifying deposit.

What payment methods excluded from bonuses means

A bonus exclusion is a line in the offer terms saying that deposits made with certain methods won't count towards the promotion. The casino still takes the money and you can play with it as normal. What you lose is the bonus or free spins that the deposit would otherwise have earned.

This is a promotional rule, not a payments rule. The same e-wallet might be perfectly fine for everyday deposits and withdrawals at that casino, and excluded only from the welcome offer. That's why the exclusion list sits in the bonus terms rather than the cashier. Our payment methods hub covers each method on its own merits.

Commission guidance says significant conditions must be shown with the headline offer, not buried in general terms. An exclusion that decides whether you get the offer at all is exactly that kind of condition.

Payment methods excluded from bonuses at UK partner casinos

The table sets out each partner's exclusions as they appear in the welcome offer terms we hold, last checked on 5 October 2026. Where a casino doesn't name methods, we don't fill the gap.

Excluded deposit methods by partner welcome offer
Casino and offerExcluded methodsWhat's left to check
Coral: bet £10, get 100 free spinsNeteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards, certain debit cardsWhich debit cards; read the full terms
Ladbrokes: play £10, get up to 500 free spinsPrepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill, MoneybookersFull terms for any additions

Casumo: 50% bonus up to £100Not named in headline terms; payment restrictions applyFull terms before depositing
PlayOJO: 80 free spins, no wageringNone named in headline termsFull terms via the offer link

The welcome offer pages for each brand go into the rest of the terms: Coral's welcome offer, Ladbrokes' welcome offer, Casumo's bonus, 10bet's bonus and PlayOJO's spins.

Which methods are most often excluded

Looking across the partners, the same names keep coming up. The second table flips the view so you can start from the method you already use.

How often each method is excluded across our partners' welcome offers
MethodExcluded byNotes
SkrillCoral, Ladbrokes, 10betExcluded by three of five
NetellerCoral, Ladbrokes, 10betSame operator as Skrill
PayPalCoral, LadbrokesAccepted for deposits at both
PaysafeCoral, LadbrokesTerms don't say which Paysafe product
Prepaid cardsCoral, LadbrokesNamed as prepaid cards in both
MoneybookersLadbrokesNamed only in Ladbrokes' terms
Certain debit cardsCoralWhich cards isn't specified in the headline terms

Skrill and Neteller are both run by Paysafe Financial Services Limited, according to the Skrill account terms (opens in a new tab) and Neteller's own, which helps explain why they're usually excluded together. The Coral and Ladbrokes terms say "Paysafe" without naming a product, so treat paysafecard and other Paysafe-branded methods as excluded there. Our pages on PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and prepaid cards cover each one in detail.

Why casinos exclude some payment methods from bonuses

None of our partners explains its exclusions in the offer terms, so any reason is an inference rather than a published policy. What the excluded methods have in common is that the money passes through a third-party wallet or a prepaid product instead of coming straight from a bank card or account in the player's name. That can make it harder for a casino to link one deposit to one verified person, which matters for offers limited to one per customer.

Cost is another plausible factor, since different methods carry different processing charges for the operator, but no partner says so. Our question page on why some payment methods are excluded from bonuses looks at the wider picture.

What an excluded deposit costs you: worked examples

Using an excluded method doesn't cost you money directly, but it does cost you the offer. The examples put a face value on what's missed, using each offer's own figures.

Face value missed with an excluded qualifying deposit
ExampleWhat you'd have receivedFace valueWagering
Coral, £10 via PayPal then £10 on slots100 spins at 10p£10None on winnings
Ladbrokes, £10 via Skrill then £10 on slotsUp to 500 spins at 10p over 10 daysUp to £50None
10bet, £25 via Neteller£25 matched bonus£2510x the bonus (£250) on slots within 3 days

Face value isn't the same as expected value. Spins at 10p return less than 10p each on average because every slot has a house edge, and a matched bonus must be wagered before it becomes cash. Our guides to free spins value and bonus value show the maths.

How to check bonus payment exclusions before you deposit

  1. Open the offer's full terms from the promotion page, not just the banner.
  2. Search the terms for "payment", "deposit method", "excluded" and the name of your method.
  3. If the terms say "certain" cards or methods without listing them, ask live chat before depositing and keep the reply.
  4. Check whether the offer needs an opt-in, a code or the designated offer link.
  5. Make the qualifying deposit with an eligible method in your own name.
  6. Check the spins or bonus have appeared before you start playing, and contact support straight away if not.

Coral and Ladbrokes also allow only three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days, so adding a new method just for an offer uses up one of those slots. Our bonus terms explained guide lists the other conditions to read.

UK rules on bonus terms and payment exclusions

No UK rule bans payment exclusions, but the way they're presented is regulated. Commission guidance on transparent promotions (opens in a new tab) says significant conditions must be clear, prominent and shown with the headline offer on landing and sign-up pages, and that putting them only in general terms isn't enough. Full terms must be no more than one click away.

The Commission's consumer page on free offers and bonuses (opens in a new tab) also says you should be able to walk away at any time and keep what's left of your own deposit. Since 19 January 2026 wagering is capped at 10 times the bonus, as explained on our 10x wagering cap page, and our UK casino bonus rules page covers the rest.

Mistakes to avoid with excluded payment methods

  • Assuming a method that works in the cashier must qualify for the offer.
  • Depositing first and reading the terms afterwards.
  • Using someone else's card or wallet to qualify, which breaks the terms and the verification rules.
  • Opening a second account to try again, which breaks one-per-customer rules and can lose you winnings.
  • Chasing an offer you'd never have wanted just because you missed it once.

Our casino bonus mistakes page covers other traps, and what bonus abuse means explains how casinos treat broken terms. A missed offer isn't a reason to deposit more; if it feels that way, take a break.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I use PayPal for a casino welcome bonus?

Because some casinos exclude it in the offer terms, even though they accept it for normal deposits. Coral and Ladbrokes both list PayPal as a method that doesn't qualify for their spin offers. The casinos don't publish their reasons. You can still deposit and play with PayPal; you just won't get that offer. Our PayPal casinos guide covers how it works for deposits and withdrawals.

Are Skrill and Neteller excluded from casino bonuses?

Often, yes. Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet all exclude Skrill and Neteller from their welcome offers. Both wallets are run by Paysafe Financial Services Limited, which may be why they're usually listed together. Casumo accepts Skrill deposits, but its headline terms only say payment restrictions apply, so check its full terms. See our Skrill and Neteller pages.

Do prepaid cards qualify for casino bonuses?

Not at Coral or Ladbrokes, which both exclude prepaid cards and Paysafe from their welcome spins. Other casinos set their own rules, so read the terms. A prepaid card can still be useful as a budgeting tool for normal deposits, as long as the casino accepts it. Our prepaid card casinos guide explains the options and limits.

What happens if I deposit with an excluded method?

Your deposit goes through as normal and you can play with it, but the offer won't be credited. Don't count on support changing that afterwards, because the terms set the rule before you deposited. Using another account or someone else's card to try again breaks the terms. Our bonus terms explained page covers the conditions to read first.

What does 'certain debit cards' mean in Coral's terms?

Coral's welcome offer terms say certain debit cards don't qualify but don't list which ones in the headline wording. The safest approach is to ask live chat before depositing and keep a copy of the answer. Coral's help centre lists Visa, Mastercard and Maestro debit cards for deposits; the question is only about the offer. Our debit card casinos page explains card payments generally.

Does PlayOJO exclude any payment methods from its offer?

The headline terms for PlayOJO's 80 free spins don't name any excluded methods. They do say the offer needs a first deposit of at least £10, is for new UK customers outside Northern Ireland, can't be combined and is available only through the designated offer link. Read the full terms before depositing. Our PlayOJO welcome offer page has the details.

Can I switch to an e-wallet after claiming a bonus?

Usually yes for later deposits, because the exclusions in our partners' terms relate to the qualifying deposit. But withdrawals generally return to the method you deposited with, and Coral and Ladbrokes allow only three active methods in 30 days, so adding methods has knock-on effects. Read the terms for any rule about later deposits. Our e-wallet casinos page explains wallet withdrawals.

Are payment exclusions legal under UK rules?

Yes. No UK rule bans them, but Commission guidance says significant conditions must be shown clearly with the headline offer and the full terms within one click. A condition that decides whether you get the offer at all should be easy to find before you deposit. Our UK casino bonus rules page explains the transparency requirements.
