PayPal casinos UK

PayPal casinos UK players can use include Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo, which list PayPal for deposits and withdrawals, and 10bet, where a third-party review lists it. The catch is bonuses: Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal deposits from their welcome offers. Here is how PayPal works at licensed casinos, how quickly it pays out, and when a debit card suits you better.

Key takeaways

  • PayPal only allows gambling payments to sellers it has approved, in places where gambling is legal.
  • Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list PayPal for deposits and withdrawals; PlayOJO doesn't name it.
  • PayPal deposits don't qualify for the Coral or Ladbrokes welcome offers.
  • Casumo pays PayPal withdrawals instantly once approved; Coral and Ladbrokes need a PayPal deposit in the last 6 months.
  • Funding PayPal from a credit card to gamble isn't allowed at UK-licensed casinos.

PayPal casinos UK: where you can pay with PayPal

A PayPal casino is one that PayPal has approved to take gambling payments and that offers PayPal in its cashier. Among our partners, Coral and Ladbrokes list PayPal for both deposits and withdrawals in their help centres, Casumo names it in its homepage FAQ and withdrawal table, and 10bet's support for it comes from a third-party review. PlayOJO's help page doesn't mention PayPal.

PayPal sits between your bank and the casino, so the casino sees your PayPal account rather than your card. It is an e-wallet, and it works differently from paying straight from a card; our e-wallet casinos page compares the main wallets, and the payments hub covers every method.

PayPal's own gambling rules: approved casinos only

PayPal doesn't let just any gambling site use it. Its help article on what gambling activities PayPal prohibits (opens in a new tab) says gambling transactions are banned unless the seller has been approved. The covered activities include casino games, sports betting, racing, lottery tickets and gaming machines, even where they are legal.

  • Approved gambling sellers may use PayPal in certain jurisdictions where gambling is legal.
  • To be approved, sellers must show they can block US account holders and users in places where gambling may be illegal.
  • Gambling transactions by sellers and account holders in the US are prohibited regardless of approval.

In practice, seeing PayPal in a UK cashier tells you the casino has passed PayPal's approval as well as holding its Gambling Commission licence. It is not a substitute for checking the licence yourself, which our guide to checking a casino licence explains.

The six-month rule at Coral and Ladbrokes follows from their closed-loop policy: money goes back the way it came where possible, so PayPal payouts are open to people who have recently paid in with PayPal. See our pages on Casumo payments and Ladbrokes withdrawals for each brand's full rules.

PayPal casino deposits and welcome bonuses: the main catch

This is the point most PayPal users miss. Both Coral and Ladbrokes name PayPal among the deposit methods that don't qualify for their welcome offers, alongside Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards. 10bet's matched bonus excludes Skrill and Neteller but doesn't name PayPal in its key terms, and Casumo says payment restrictions apply without listing them.

Does a PayPal deposit qualify for partner welcome offers?
CasinoWelcome offerPayPal deposit qualifies?
CoralBet £10 on slots, get 100 free spinsNo, PayPal is excluded
LadbrokesPlay £10 on slots, get up to 500 free spinsNo, PayPal is excluded
PlayOJO80 free spins, £10 first depositPayPal isn't listed as a method
Casumo50% up to £100Check terms: payment restrictions apply
10bet100% up to £25Not named as excluded; check terms

Here is what that means in pounds. Deposit £20 at Coral by PayPal and bet £10 on a slot with a 96% RTP, and you have spent about 40p on average (£10 × 4%) without receiving the 100 spins at 10p, worth £10 at face value. Casinos don't publish their reasons in the key terms; our answer to why some payment methods are excluded from bonuses looks at the background, and payment method exclusions lists them by casino.

Never try to work round a payment exclusion, for example with a second account. It breaks the terms, and casinos can withhold the bonus and any winnings from it.

How to deposit with PayPal at a UK casino

  1. Check the casino lists PayPal in its cashier, and decide whether you need a welcome offer, as PayPal may not qualify.
  2. Complete the casino's age and identity checks; the name on your PayPal account should match.
  3. Make sure your PayPal account is funded by a debit card or bank account, not a credit card.
  4. Set your financial limit when the casino prompts you before the first deposit.
  5. Choose PayPal, enter the amount and log in to PayPal to approve it.
  6. Return to the casino and check the deposit has arrived before you play.

PayPal casino withdrawals: speed, fees and the six-month rule

PayPal is one of the quicker published payout routes once a casino has approved the request. Casumo says PayPal withdrawals arrive instantly after approval, with approval usually within hours and always within 3 days under its policy. 10bet's withdrawal help page (opens in a new tab) puts e-wallets at up to 2 business days. The Coral and Ladbrokes help pages give only a general window of instantly to five banking days by method.

CasumoYesInstant£0 (fee only below £10)
Coral or LadbrokesOnly after a PayPal deposit in the last 6 monthsInstantly to 5 banking days by method£0

Under UK rules you can withdraw whenever you like without unreasonable delay, and once you ask to withdraw the casino can't invite you to reverse it. For more, read how long casino withdrawals take or see fast withdrawal casinos.

Credit cards behind PayPal: what UK rules say

Since 14 April 2020, licensed gambling businesses have been barred from accepting credit card payments, and that includes credit card payments made through a money service business. The Commission's guide to gambling using a credit card (opens in a new tab) also says a business accepting an e-wallet such as PayPal should make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card.

So if your PayPal account's main funding source is a credit card, change it to a debit card or bank account before paying a casino. Our credit card ban page covers the background, including the UK Finance estimate that about 800,000 people gambled on credit cards in 2018.

PayPal keeps your card details away from the casino and pays out quickly at Casumo. A debit card wins on offer eligibility and on bank blocks. Our debit card casinos guide covers the card side.

Budgeting with PayPal: what your stakes cost

An e-wallet can make casino spending feel separate from your bank balance, so it helps to keep the real cost in view. Average loss is stake multiplied by house edge, and the edge comes from counting outcomes.

  • French roulette with La Partage: an even-money bet loses half the stake when zero lands, so the edge is half of 1/37, or 1.35%. £5 bets for 50 spins cost about £3.38 on average.
  • European roulette without La Partage: 1/37, or 2.70%. The same 50 spins at £5 cost about £6.75.
  • A slot at 94% RTP: a 6% edge. 300 spins at 50p is £150 staked, costing about £9.

Results in any one session can be far from these averages. See French roulette for La Partage and our cost per hour page for more games.

E-wallets, bank gambling blocks and getting help

Bank gambling blocks are built around card payments to gambling merchants, so they don't always reach payments that go through a wallet or another app. Revolut, for example, says its gambling block (opens in a new tab) doesn't affect bank transfers or payments through third-party apps. If you rely on a bank block, ask your bank whether it covers PayPal, and consider a block that works at the gambling end too.

  • GAMSTOP blocks you from every UK-licensed gambling site for the period you choose.
  • Casino deposit limits and time-outs work whatever method you pay with.
  • The National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, is run by GamCare, free to call and open 24/7.

Our guide to bank gambling blocks compares what each bank offers.

PayPal casinos UK and partner offers: be clear on the terms

To be straight about it: the three slot offers below are not PayPal offers. Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal deposits, and PlayOJO doesn't list PayPal at all. If you want to pay by PayPal regardless, Coral and Ladbrokes still take it for ordinary deposits. None of these offers covers table or live games. The offers are for adults aged 18 or over, and terms apply.

  • Coral (1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027): deposit with an eligible method and bet £10+ on slots to get 100 free spins on selected games at 10p each; accept within 48 hours, valid 7 days, no wagering on winnings. PayPal, Neteller, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards are excluded.
  • PlayOJO: a first deposit of £10 or more brings 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, 10p each, no wagering, winnings paid as cash. New UK customers outside Northern Ireland; via the designated link only; not combinable with other offers.
  • Ladbrokes: deposit with an eligible method and spend £10+ on slots for 50 free spins a day over 10 days (500 maximum) at 10p; claim by 23:59 each day; valid 7 days; no wagering. PayPal, prepaid cards, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers don't qualify.

Because Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, one person may not be able to open new accounts at both. Whatever you deposit, treat it as the price of entertainment.

These offers don't suit a PayPal deposit: Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal, and PlayOJO doesn't list it. If you want one of them, the terms point to another eligible method, such as a standard debit card. 18+, terms apply.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open another; check the terms first.

Frequently asked questions

Which UK online casinos accept PayPal?

Among our partners, Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list PayPal for deposits and withdrawals, and a third-party review lists it at 10bet. PlayOJO's help page doesn't mention it. PayPal only works with gambling sellers it has approved, so finding it in a UK cashier means the casino has passed PayPal's checks as well as holding a licence. See our answer to can I use PayPal at an online casino for more.

Can I get a casino bonus if I deposit with PayPal?

Often not. Coral and Ladbrokes both exclude PayPal deposits from their welcome offers, and many casinos treat e-wallets the same way. 10bet's key terms exclude Skrill and Neteller but don't name PayPal, and Casumo says payment restrictions apply, so read each casino's full terms before you pay. If an offer matters to you, check which methods qualify first. Our guide to bonus terms explains what else to look for.

How fast are PayPal casino withdrawals?

Usually quick once approved. Casumo says PayPal withdrawals arrive instantly after approval, which normally takes hours. 10bet puts e-wallet withdrawals at up to 2 business days. The two Entain brands quote a general range of instantly to five banking days depending on the method, after internal approval, and require a PayPal deposit in the previous 6 months before paying out to PayPal. Compare all methods on our withdrawal times page.

Why can't I withdraw to PayPal at Coral or Ladbrokes?

Most likely because you haven't deposited with PayPal in the last 6 months. Both casinos follow a closed-loop policy, paying money back to the method you used to deposit where possible, and their help pages make a recent PayPal deposit a condition of PayPal withdrawals. In that case your winnings will go to another method you have used, such as your debit card. The Coral withdrawals page explains its process.

Can I fund PayPal with a credit card to gamble?

No, not at a UK-licensed casino. The credit card ban that began on 14 April 2020 covers credit card payments made through money service businesses, and the Gambling Commission expects casinos taking e-wallets such as PayPal to make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card. Switch your PayPal funding source to a debit card or bank account first. Our page on the gambling credit card ban has the full rule.

Does PayPal charge fees for casino payments?

We couldn't confirm PayPal's own fees for gambling payments, so check your PayPal account's fee page. On the casino side, Coral and Ladbrokes charge no withdrawal fees, and Casumo charges £3 only on withdrawals below £10. 10bet doesn't publish e-wallet fees. Always look at the cashier before a withdrawal, especially for small amounts. Our casino withdrawal fees page compares the published rules.

Is PayPal safer than a debit card at a casino?

It is safer in one way: the casino never sees your card number, because the payment comes from your PayPal account. A debit card has other advantages, such as qualifying for more welcome offers and being covered by bank gambling blocks. Either way, the protection that matters most is a Gambling Commission licence. Read our online casino security guide for more steps.

Will my bank's gambling block stop PayPal casino payments?

Not necessarily. Bank blocks mainly stop card payments coded as gambling, and some don't reach payments made through other apps. Revolut, for example, says its block doesn't cover bank transfers or payments through third-party apps. Ask your bank exactly what its block covers. For a barrier at every licensed site, register with GAMSTOP and set deposit limits at the casino. Our GAMSTOP guide explains how it works.
