Trustly casinos in the UK

Trustly casinos let you pay straight from your bank account: you pick your bank at the cashier and approve the payment in your banking app, with no card details involved. Among our partners, Casumo and PlayOJO name Trustly on their own pages, while Coral and Ladbrokes run their Pay by Bank option through a different provider, TrueLayer.

Key takeaways

  • Trustly UK Limited is an FCA-regulated payment institution (FRN 1005703); it never stores your bank login.
  • Casumo names Trustly for deposits and PlayOJO names it on its help page; Coral and Ladbrokes use TrueLayer instead.
  • Trustly’s help pages don’t confirm any consumer fee, and casino fees are set separately.
  • Some bank gambling blocks don’t cover bank-to-merchant payments, so pair them with casino deposit limits.

What Trustly is and how Trustly casinos use it

Trustly is a payment company that moves money directly between your bank account and a merchant. Instead of typing card numbers, you choose your bank from a list, sign in through your bank’s own security process, and approve the exact amount. Trustly calls this Pay by Bank. The casino gets the money; it never sees your card, because there isn’t one in the transaction.

Trustly’s explanation of how paying with it works (opens in a new tab) describes the steps from the customer’s side. For merchants it also handles pay-outs, Direct Debit payments and identity and account verification, which is why some casinos use the same provider to send winnings back. Our casino payments hub compares Trustly with cards and wallets, and the wider open banking guide covers the technology behind it.

Who runs Trustly in the UK

Trustly’s UK business is a separate company with its own FCA authorisation, as its UK company page (opens in a new tab) sets out.

A payment institution moves money; it doesn’t hold a balance for you the way an e-wallet does. With Trustly, your money stays in your bank until the moment you approve a payment, and then it sits with the casino. The casino must state how it protects customer balances, which our page on customer funds protection explains.

How to deposit at a Trustly casino

  1. Join a UK-licensed casino and pass its age and identity checks, which must be done before any deposit.
  2. Set the deposit limit the casino asks for before your first payment.
  3. In the cashier, choose Trustly (sometimes shown as Pay by Bank) and enter the amount.
  4. Pick your bank from the list and approve the payment with your bank’s usual security method, such as your app or biometrics.
  5. Return to the casino and check that the balance has updated before you play.

At Casumo the minimum deposit is £10 for every method, and its welcome offer needs £20. Other partners publish different minimums, so check the cashier.

Is Trustly safe? What it does and doesn’t see

Trustly’s page on how it protects your payments (opens in a new tab) says it never stores your bank login details and can’t make a payment without your authorisation. Each payment is approved through your own bank, so the security you rely on is the bank’s.

  • Trustly doesn’t see: a card number, because none is used.
  • Trustly doesn’t keep: your online banking login.
  • Your bank confirms: each payment, through its usual checks.
  • The casino receives: the payment and the details it needs to send winnings back.

Being safe as a payment route says nothing about the casino. Only pay casinos licensed by the Gambling Commission; our guide to checking a casino licence shows how.

Which partner casinos name Trustly

Two of our partners name Trustly on their own pages, one appears to through a third-party review, and two use a different provider for the same kind of payment.

Casumo’s withdrawal table lists bank payouts but doesn’t say whether they go through Trustly. PlayOJO says withdrawals return to the deposit method where possible. For the full picture at each, see Casumo’s payments page and PlayOJO’s payments page.

Trustly or TrueLayer: Pay by Bank at Coral and Ladbrokes

From your side, paying with Trustly and paying with Coral’s or Ladbrokes’ Pay by Bank feel much the same: choose a bank, approve in your app, done. The difference is the company in the middle. Coral and Ladbrokes run Pay by Bank through TrueLayer, with a £5 minimum deposit and withdrawals available by the same method. If your search for Trustly casinos is really a search for bank payments without a card, our Pay by Bank casinos page covers those two in detail.

Trustly casinos and welcome offers: the real value

Trustly isn’t named in Coral’s or Ladbrokes’ exclusion lists, but those casinos don’t use Trustly anyway. PlayOJO, which does name Trustly, offers 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza for a first deposit of £10 or more; check its terms to confirm your chosen method counts. If it does, here is what the spins are worth on average.

Big Bass Bonanza is a high-volatility slot, so most players will land well above or below £7.74, and many will win nothing. The average is a guide to value, not a forecast. Our page on what free spins are worth shows the method for other offers.

Trustly casino payment speeds and fees

Trustly’s marketing says Pay by Bank moves funds in real time, but casino-side timings decide how quickly you can play or get paid. PlayOJO says it processes most payments within a few hours and cautions that certain deposit methods may need as long as 3 working days before the money shows. Casumo approves or denies withdrawals within 3 days and quotes up to 5 days for bank payouts; 10bet quotes up to 3 business days for bank transfers.

On fees, Trustly’s help pages don’t say whether customers pay anything, so we can’t confirm a figure. Casino fees are separate: Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10 and nothing above that. Our withdrawal times guide compares the partners.

Trustly payments and bank gambling blocks

Bank gambling blocks were built mostly around card payments, and Pay by Bank isn’t a card payment. Revolut says its block doesn’t affect bank transfers or payments through third-party apps, and Lloyds says its freeze doesn’t cover direct debits or bank transfers. The Gambling Commission’s list says HSBC’s restriction includes the Pay by Bank app. Ask your own bank exactly what its tool catches; our bank gambling blocks guide has the details by bank.

Where a bank block leaves a gap, casino and industry tools fill it. Set deposit limits at each casino, use GAMSTOP to exclude yourself from every GB-licensed site, and remember the free National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. Casinos must also run a public-records check once your net deposits pass £150 in a rolling 30 days, as our page on financial risk checks explains.

Trustly casinos and our partner offers

PlayOJO is the closest fit: it names Trustly and offers 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza for a first deposit of at least £10 (18+, new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland, 10p spins, no wagering, winnings paid in cash; check the terms for accepted methods).

Coral’s bet £10 on slots, get 100 free spins (18+, 10p spins on selected games, accept within 48 hours, valid 7 days, no wagering on winnings) and Ladbrokes’ play £10 on slots, get up to 500 free spins (50 a day for 10 days, 10p each, valid 7 days, no wagering) are paid for through their own cashiers, which offer Pay by Bank via TrueLayer rather than Trustly. Terms apply to every offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trustly safe for casino payments?

Trustly UK Limited is an Authorised Payment Institution regulated by the FCA, reference 1005703, and its parent is supervised in Sweden. Trustly says it never stores your bank login and can’t make a payment without your approval, which you give through your own bank. The casino is a separate question: use only Gambling Commission licensed sites. Our guide to checking a casino licence helps, and customer funds protection explains what happens to your balance.

Which UK casinos accept Trustly?

Among our partners, Casumo lists Trustly as a deposit method and PlayOJO names it on its help page. A third-party review lists Trustly at 10bet. Coral and Ladbrokes offer Pay by Bank through TrueLayer rather than Trustly. Cashiers change, so confirm in the live cashier before you sign up. Our payments hub compares every method, and PlayOJO’s payments page and Casumo’s payments page cover those two cashiers.

Does Trustly charge fees for casino deposits?

Trustly’s help pages don’t say whether customers pay a fee, so we can’t confirm one either way. Your bank’s own terms apply to the payment from your account. Casinos set their own charges: Casumo takes £3 on withdrawals under £10, while Coral and Ladbrokes say they charge no withdrawal fees. Check the cashier before paying. Our withdrawal fees page and minimum deposit guide cover the partners’ rules.

Can I withdraw winnings with Trustly?

Trustly offers pay-outs to merchants, so a casino can use it to send money back to your bank, but each casino decides. PlayOJO says withdrawals go back to the deposit method where possible and that most payments are processed within a few hours. Casumo lists bank withdrawals of up to 5 days without naming the provider. Our how to withdraw guide explains the process, and PlayOJO withdrawals covers that casino’s timings.

Is Trustly the same as Pay by Bank?

Trustly is one company that offers Pay by Bank, the umbrella name for paying a merchant directly from your bank account through open banking. Other providers do the same job: Coral and Ladbrokes run their Pay by Bank option through TrueLayer. The experience is similar, choosing your bank and approving in your app, but the company in the middle differs. Our Pay by Bank casinos page and open banking guide explain the wider picture.

Does Trustly see my online banking password?

No. Trustly says it never stores your bank login details and can’t make a payment without your authorisation. You approve each payment through your own bank’s security process, such as your banking app or biometrics. That keeps card details out of the casino entirely, though the casino does receive what it needs to pay winnings back. Our account verification guide explains the separate identity checks a casino runs, and age verification rules set the legal minimum.

Can I use Trustly for the PlayOJO welcome offer?

PlayOJO names Trustly on its help page, and its offer needs a first deposit of at least £10, giving 80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza with no wagering. Our checked offer terms don’t list Trustly as excluded, but check the full terms and cashier before depositing to be sure your method counts. 18+ and terms apply. Our PlayOJO welcome bonus page covers the offer, and no wagering bonuses explains the format.

Does a bank gambling block stop Trustly payments?

Not always. Many bank blocks target card payments, and Trustly payments come straight from your account. Revolut says its block doesn’t affect bank transfers or third-party apps, and Lloyds says its freeze doesn’t cover bank transfers, although the Commission’s list says HSBC’s restriction includes the Pay by Bank app. Combine any block with casino limits and GAMSTOP. See our bank gambling blocks guide and answer on blocking gambling payments with your bank.
