Mega Roulette explained
Mega Roulette is Pragmatic Play's live single-zero roulette game in which one to five random Mega Multipliers, worth 50x to 500x, land on straight-up numbers every round. Everything else plays like a normal European table, with a 20-second betting window, racetrack call bets and a quick-bet option called Mega Bets.
Key takeaways
- Every round, one to five Mega Multipliers of 50x to 500x are applied at random to straight-up bets.
- The wheel is single zero, so a straight-up still wins just 1 time in 37 on average.
- Pragmatic's pages don't publish the RTP or the unboosted straight-up payout, so check the help screen.
- Mega Bets place one chip on each number in a selection, which is the same as several straight-up bets.
- Pragmatic advertises wins of up to €500,000, but table limits and casino terms decide what's possible in practice.

Mega Roulette at a glance
Mega Roulette is Pragmatic Play Live's answer to the multiplier roulette trend. A dealer spins a real single-zero wheel, and before the ball lands the game picks between one and five straight-up numbers and gives each a Mega Multiplier of 50x to 500x. If your straight-up bet sits on a boosted number and that number wins, you're paid at the multiplier instead of the normal rate. The official Mega Roulette page (opens in a new tab) sets out the core rules.
Pragmatic launched the game in Latin America first. Its global roll-out announcement (opens in a new tab) is dated 23 February 2021. The wider range has since grown to include Mega Roulette 3000, PowerUP Roulette and Speed Roulette, and Pragmatic's live casino page names Bucharest as the studio its roulette is broadcast from.

How Mega Roulette multipliers work
The Mega Multipliers are random, and they're chosen after betting closes, so you can't see which numbers will be boosted before you commit chips. Only straight-up bets, single-number chips like a standard straight up bet, can collect a multiplier. A split, street or corner that happens to include a boosted number is paid at its usual rate.
A multiplied win needs two things at once: your number has to be boosted in that round, and the ball has to land on it. Those are separate events. The multiplier selection doesn't make a number any more likely to win, because the wheel doesn't know which numbers have been boosted.
What multipliers do to the base payout
In games of this type, the multipliers are usually paid for by trimming the normal single-number payout. Evolution's Lightning Roulette, for example, pays 29 to 1 on an unboosted single number. Pragmatic's public pages don't state Mega Roulette's unboosted payout, so look it up in the paytable before you assume 35 to 1.
Mega Roulette odds: how often a multiplied win lands
You can work out the chance of a multiplied win on one number from the pocket count, as long as you assume each of the 37 numbers is equally likely to be picked for a boost. The game's rules describe how the selection works, so check them. The chance that your number is boosted is k in 37, where k is the number of multipliers that round. The chance it then wins is 1 in 37. Multiply the two.
| Multipliers this round | Chance your number is boosted | Chance it's boosted and wins | Roughly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1/37 (2.70%) | 1/1,369 | 1 in 1,369 |
| 2 | 2/37 (5.41%) | 2/1,369 | 1 in 684 |
| 3 | 3/37 (8.11%) | 3/1,369 | 1 in 456 |
| 4 | 4/37 (10.81%) | 4/1,369 | 1 in 342 |
| 5 | 5/37 (13.51%) | 5/1,369 | 1 in 274 |
So even on a five-multiplier round, a single £1 chip on one number lands a boosted win about once in 274 rounds on average, and on a one-multiplier round about once in 1,369. Most sessions won't see one at all. That's why straight-up play on Mega Roulette is very volatile: long runs of small or no returns, with an occasional large payout.
Mega Bets and racetrack bets explained
Mega Bets are a shortcut. Pragmatic describes them as placing one chip on each number of a chosen selection, so one tap covers, say, a block of numbers with a straight-up chip on each. Because each chip is a straight-up bet, every number covered can collect a multiplier if it's boosted and wins.
Spreading chips across more numbers raises the chance that one of them wins, but it raises your total stake by the same proportion. With 6 straight-ups at 50p each, you stake £3 a round and one of your numbers wins 6 times in 37 (16.22%). The cost per pound staked doesn't change, because every chip is the same bet. Covering more numbers just changes how your results are spread.
The racetrack adds the familiar French-style call bets, such as voisins du zéro and tiers du cylindre, which group numbers by where they sit on the wheel. Those are made up of splits, streets and corners, so they don't qualify for multipliers unless the game rules say otherwise.
What Mega Roulette costs per round and per hour
Pragmatic's pages don't publish an RTP for Mega Roulette, so the edge on straight-ups has to come from the help screen. For standard bets on a single-zero wheel at standard odds, the edge is 2.70%. The table shows the method; replace the RTP with the figure the game lists for each bet you use.
| Bet type | Edge to use | Per £2 round | Per hour (£100 staked) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outside bets at standard odds on a single-zero wheel | 2.70% | 5.4p | £2.70 |
| Straight-ups (multiplier bets) | 100% minus the help-screen RTP | £2 × edge | £100 × edge |
| Example: a straight-up RTP of 97.00% | 3.00% | 6p | £3.00 |
The 20-second betting window keeps the pace steady rather than frantic, but rounds add up. Use the cost per hour method with your real pace, and remember that your actual result in a session will vary widely around the average.
The Mega Roulette max win in context
Pragmatic advertises wins of up to €500,000. That figure comes from combining a top multiplier with a large stake, and what you can win in practice depends on the table's maximum straight-up bet and any payout cap the casino sets, so check both. The chance of a 500x boost on your number is far smaller than the chance of any boost, because 500x is only the top of the range.
A headline max win tells you nothing about the cost of playing. Look at the RTP and your stake per round; those decide what an hour of Mega Roulette costs on average.
How to play Mega Roulette
- Open Mega Roulette from the live lobby and check the paytable, the RTP and the table limits in the help screen.
- Pick a chip value and place bets within the 20-second window: straight-ups, other inside bets, outside bets, racetrack bets or a Mega Bet selection.
- When betting closes, watch for the one to five Mega Multipliers to be applied to random numbers.
- The dealer spins and the ball lands on a single-zero wheel.
- Boosted straight-up winners are paid at the multiplier; all other winning bets are paid at the posted odds.
- Repeat with the re-bet button if you want the same layout; you still press it each round.

Mega Roulette myths to ignore
- 'Boosted numbers are more likely to come up.' No. The multiplier and the ball are independent, and every number has the same 1-in-37 chance.
- 'Bet on numbers that haven't been boosted for a while.' Past rounds don't affect future selections. Read about the gambler's fallacy.
- 'Covering all 37 numbers guarantees a multiplier.' You'd collect one only if a boosted number wins, and you'd be staking 37 chips to win back one payout. Each chip still carries the game's edge.
- 'Doubling up after losses recovers everything.' Table limits and the edge make sure it doesn't; see our page on the Martingale system.
Mega Roulette and UK rules
As a live casino game, Mega Roulette falls under the 2025 rules for all online casino games: no autoplay (a re-bet button is allowed), at least 5 seconds per game cycle, no playing several games at once, and net spend and time played shown in real time. The online slot stake caps of £5 and £2 don't apply to roulette, so your limits come from the table. Our page on live casino rules in the UK explains the detail.
Pragmatic's live casino overview (opens in a new tab) says its studios use several 4K cameras, with in-house streaming latency as low as 1.5 to 2 seconds in good conditions. A delay that short means the picture you see is close to live, but always let the result show on screen before you react to it.
Who Mega Roulette suits
Advantages
- Single-zero wheel, the better of the two standard wheels
- Mega Bets make wide straight-up coverage quick to place
- Outside bets play like a normal live table
Drawbacks
- No RTP or base straight-up payout on Pragmatic's public pages
- Multiplied wins are rare, so straight-up play is very volatile
- The headline max win depends on stake limits and casino caps
Mega Roulette suits players who enjoy long-shot straight-up bets and the build-up of a multiplier reveal, and who accept that most rounds won't produce a boosted win. If you mostly bet outside, a standard European roulette table gives the same experience without the multiplier mechanics. Compare it with Evolution's Lightning Roulette, whose figures are published in more detail, or browse every variant from the roulette hub.

Frequently asked questions
What is Mega Roulette?
Mega Roulette is a live single-zero roulette game from Pragmatic Play. Each round, between one and five random Mega Multipliers worth 50x to 500x are added to straight-up numbers, and a straight-up bet on a boosted number that wins is paid at that multiplier. The rest of the table works like standard roulette, with racetrack call bets and Mega Bets. See our Pragmatic Play Live page for the studio's other games.
What is the RTP of Mega Roulette?
Check the game's help screen. Pragmatic Play's public pages don't publish an RTP, and UK rules require the theoretical return to be available in the game before you bet. Boosted roulette games often list a different RTP for straight-ups than for other bets, so read the full list. For how RTP turns into a pound cost, see our explainer on RTP against house edge.
How many multipliers are there in Mega Roulette?
Between one and five Mega Multipliers land each round, according to Pragmatic Play, with values from 50x to 500x. They're applied at random to straight-up numbers after betting closes. Assuming each number is equally likely to be picked, your single number is boosted in 1 to 5 of every 37 rounds, depending on the count. Our lightning multiplier glossary entry covers the general mechanic.
What is the maximum win on Mega Roulette?
Pragmatic Play advertises wins of up to €500,000. Reaching anything near that needs a top multiplier on your winning number and a large straight-up stake, and the table's maximum bet and the casino's own payout terms may limit it. The chance of a top 500x boost landing on your winning number is tiny, so treat the figure as a ceiling, not an expectation. See what a max win means for the general idea.
Is Mega Roulette the same as Lightning Roulette?
No, though they're similar. Both add one to five multipliers of 50x to 500x to straight-up numbers on a single-zero wheel. Lightning Roulette is made by Evolution and pays 29 to 1 on an unboosted single number, while Mega Roulette is from Pragmatic Play, whose public pages don't state that payout. Our Lightning Roulette page gives Evolution's published figures for comparison.
What are Mega Bets in Mega Roulette?
Mega Bets place one chip on each number in a chosen selection, so you can cover several straight-ups with one action. Each chip counts as a separate straight-up bet, which means every covered number can collect a multiplier if it's boosted and wins. Covering more numbers raises your chance of a win but raises your stake by the same amount. Our inside bets guide explains straight-ups and the other number bets.
How long do I have to bet in Mega Roulette?
You get 20 seconds to place bets each round, according to Pragmatic Play. That's comfortably above the UK's 5-second minimum game cycle for casino games, and the game can't offer autoplay, though a re-bet button is allowed. If you prefer faster rounds, speed tables are an option; our speed roulette page explains how they compare.
Can I use a bonus on Mega Roulette?
Often not, so read the terms first. Live and table games are frequently excluded from bonus wagering or count for only a small share. Our partners' spin offers are for slots, 10bet's match must be wagered on slots, and Casumo's bonus has game restrictions. Our page on live casino bonuses explains what to look for in the terms. 18+, terms apply.
