‘Up to’ in the RTP line matters. Pragmatic Play offers casinos lower settings too, and nothing on the game’s surface tells you which one is loaded. The help screen does, and British operators must make the figure available. Our page on UK RTP display rules explains where to find it.

How the features work in Sugar Rush 1000

Clusters and tumbles

There are no reels in the usual sense and no paylines. As the casinos.com guide to slot features (opens in a new tab) puts it in general terms, cluster games pay for groups of identical symbols rather than lines. Here, a win needs five or more identical symbols connected to one another somewhere on the 7x7 grid. When a cluster pays, its symbols vanish, those above drop down, and new ones fill the gaps. Any new cluster pays as well, and the sequence repeats until nothing more connects. The game has no wild symbols at all, so every cluster must be made from matching symbols alone. Cluster pays and cascading reels both have their own guides.

Multiplier spots

This is where Sugar Rush 1000 earns its name. Each grid position where a winning symbol sits becomes a marked multiplier spot. The spot starts at x2, and every further win that uses that position doubles its value, up to a maximum of x1,024. Because a single spin can tumble several times, one long chain can push a handful of spots up the ladder quickly, and a later cluster landing over high-value spots is boosted accordingly. How several spots under one cluster are combined is set out in the game’s rules.

Free spins

Three or more scatters start the free spins round, which awards between 10 and 30 spins. The crucial difference from the base game is that multiplier spots don’t clear between free spins: they carry over and keep growing for the whole round. Further scatters during the feature add more spins. In Britain the round can only be reached by spinning, because since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players.

The Sugar Rush 1000 multiplier ladder, step by step

Doubling grows fast. Starting at x2, each further win on the same spot doubles the value, so it takes nine more wins on one position to reach the x1,024 cap. The arithmetic is simply 2 multiplied by itself ten times.

First win (spot marked)x2£0.80
2ndx4£1.60
3rdx8£3.20
4thx16£6.40
5thx32£12.80
6thx64£25.60
8thx256£102.40
10th (cap)x1,024£409.60

The £0.40 base win is an invented figure to show the arithmetic, and real payouts depend on the symbol, the cluster size and how the game combines several spots. The point is the shape of the curve: the first few doublings add little, the later ones add a lot. Reaching the top of the ladder needs a long run of wins on the same squares, which is rare in the base game and more plausible in free spins, where spots persist. Our multipliers guide compares this with additive designs such as Sweet Bonanza 1000’s bombs.

Cluster pays on a 49-square grid

A 7x7 grid has 49 positions, and five connected matching symbols make a win. That is a low bar compared with Starlight Princess 1000, which needs eight of a kind anywhere among 30 positions. Low thresholds usually mean more frequent small wins and more tumbles, which in turn feeds the multiplier spots. It doesn’t make the game cheaper: the RTP alone decides the long-run price.

Because there are no wilds, clusters form only from matching symbols. A near-miss of four can still become a win if a tumble drops a fifth beside it, but every refill is random and unconnected to the last. The idea that a grid ‘full of spots’ is due a big win is a myth; see can a slot be due a win?

The RTPs are almost identical, so the real difference is the spread. The 1000 edition takes a fivefold higher cap and pays for it with a thinner everyday experience, which is why it carries a very high volatility rating where its siblings are listed as high. What £20 buys on the Sugar Rush 1000 slot

At the top RTP of 96.53%, the house edge is 3.47%. The table shows a £20 budget at three stakes alongside the expected cost of 100 spins and the max win at that stake.

50p40£1.74£12,500
£120£3.47£25,000

The middle column is what you pay on average; the left-hand column is what a cold run can do. With very high volatility, long stretches of small wins or none are expected, and the game’s value is heavily concentrated in free spins where spots have built up. At 10p you give that round many more chances to appear before the budget runs out. On a lower RTP version, every column except the first gets worse. Our page on high vs low volatility and the session budget calculator help you plan.

Sugar Rush 1000 max win in context

The cap is 25,000 times the stake, which makes it £50,000 at the £2 limit for under-25s and £125,000 at the £5 limit for older players. Doubling spots up to x1,024 are what make such a figure reachable in theory; the cap stops the game paying beyond it. A cap this high says more about how rare the top outcomes are than about how often the game pays.

If the size of the cap is what draws you in, it’s worth reading our explainer on what a slot’s max win means and remembering that RTP, not the cap, sets the price of play.

How to play Sugar Rush 1000 online

  1. Set a deposit limit at a UKGC-licensed casino first; you’ll be prompted for a financial limit before your first deposit.
  2. Open Sugar Rush 1000 and read the help screen: confirm the RTP version and how multiplier spots combine.
  3. Choose a stake. UK versions stop at £5 a spin, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24.
  4. Spin. Clusters pay, tumble and mark multiplier spots automatically.
  5. Use the on-screen net position and timer to keep to the limit you set.

Spots carrying over from one spin to the next is described as a free spins feature. The help screen confirms what happens to marked spots at the end of a base-game spin.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Sugar Rush 1000?

Sugar Rush 1000 has an RTP of up to 96.53%, a house edge of 3.47%, on its top version. Pragmatic Play also supplies lower versions, and the casino decides which one you play, so check the game’s help screen. At £1 a spin, the top version costs about 3.47p per spin on average over the long run. Our RTP explainer shows why a single session can differ widely from that.

How do multiplier spots work in Sugar Rush 1000?

Multiplier spots in Sugar Rush 1000 appear wherever a winning symbol sits. The spot starts at x2 and doubles with every further win on that square, up to x1,024. Wins that land on marked spots are boosted by them, and in free spins the spots carry over for the whole round. The help screen explains how several spots combine; see our multipliers guide for more.

What is the max win on Sugar Rush 1000?

The max win on Sugar Rush 1000 is 25,000 times your stake, five times the 5,000x cap of the original Sugar Rush. At 10p that is £2,500, and at the £5 UK maximum for over-25s it is £125,000. Wins stop at the cap. Results anywhere near it are extremely rare, and the cap tells you little about everyday play. Read what a max win cap means for the details.

How do you get free spins on Sugar Rush 1000?

You get free spins on Sugar Rush 1000 by landing three or more scatter symbols, which awards between 10 and 30 spins. During the round, multiplier spots carry over between spins instead of resetting, and more scatters add extra spins. Scatters land at random, and you can’t buy the round at UK casinos. Our guide to the free spins feature explains how bonus rounds are triggered in general.

Does Sugar Rush 1000 have wilds?

No, Sugar Rush 1000 has no wild symbols. Every winning cluster has to be made of five or more matching symbols connected to each other, so the game relies on tumbles and multiplier spots rather than substitutes to build value. That design is part of why wins come in bursts. For how wilds work in games that do use them, see our guide to wild symbols.

What is the difference between Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush 1000?

The main difference is the size of the multiplier spots and the max win. Sugar Rush 1000 lets spots double up to x1,024 and caps wins at 25,000x, against 5,000x on the original Sugar Rush. Both use a 7x7 cluster grid, and their top RTPs are almost the same at 96.53% and 96.50%. The 1000 version is rated very high volatility. Compare it with our original Sugar Rush review.

Is Sugar Rush 1000 good for low stakes?

Yes, it can be played at low stakes, and a smaller bet suits its very high volatility. At 10p, £20 covers 200 spins even with no wins, compared with 20 spins at £1, which gives the free spins round more chances to appear. Whatever the bet size, the game keeps the same 3.47% of stakes on average. Our guide to low stakes casino play has more tips for making a budget last.

Why does Sugar Rush 1000 pay out in bursts?

It pays in bursts because most of its return comes from tumble chains and free spins where multiplier spots build up. Many base-game spins return little, then a run of connected wins over marked spots can pay many times the stake. That pattern is what a very high volatility rating describes. It isn’t linked to timing or previous spins; see how often slots pay out.
